What type of services do you provide?
Acura Home Care provides services for Companion Care, Personal Care, Skilled Nursing Care, 24 hour Care, Post-Operative Care.
Am I eligible for a Home Care Package?
To be eligible for a Home Care Package, you must have care needs relating to your ageing and be over the age of 65 years (50 years if you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or 50 years if you are at risk of, or are homeless)
How do I apply for support?
To apply for support, Acura Home Care can assist you with this process, free of charge and with no other commitments. One of our experienced Care Managers will come to your home and guide you throught the process and can support you with your application.

What is a Care Manager and why do I need one?
When you become a client at Acura Home Care, you will have your own individual Care Manager. This person will ensure your services are suited to your needs and are being delivered in a way that suits you.
Your Care Manager will become your main contact person at Acura Home Care and will have regular contact with you.
What supplements are there for my Package funding?
You may be eligible for supplements to your package, meaning that you can access additional funds to support your care needs. These include:

Can I access Private Support Services?
If you have not been approved for a Home Care Package or you remain on the National wait list, you have the option to pay privately for services. Acura Home Care can provide you a quote for the supports you need to remain living at home independently, and safely.
If your care needs exceed what you can access onb your Home Care Package, you can also pay privately for additional services.

Can I keep my Support Worker if I switch to Acura Home Care?
In most cases, your current Support Worker will be contracted to your previous provider.
Acura Home Care will liaise with your previous provider and determine if there is a way for us to retain yhour current staff.
What we can do is link you with our own Support Workers in what we call a "buddy shift', where your previous staff member will train our staff and be present during services, until yuou feel confident with your new care team.
How often will the carer change?
Acura Home Care understand the importance of having consistent staff in your home and will roster known Support Workers to yhour services.
We have a minimum of two Support Workers that we introduce to our clients. This ensures that you have a known staff member when your main staff member is on leave.
In the event that there is not a known Support Worker available (due to sick leave for example), you will be notified by the office and you have the choice to have a different staff member, or you can reschedule your service for when your known staff member returns.
Am I locked into a contract?
No, you are not locked into a contract.
We are a flexible service that offers from 2 hours to 24 hours per day. You can use the service as much or as little as you like. Services can be changed to suit your individual needs.
We do ask you to sign a service agreement to agree to the terms and conditions of service, however this is mostly to protect you as a consumer.

What are the costs?
We provide Home Care Package services under the Government consumer directed care model. There are fees that all Clients are required to pay, which are deducted from your Package.
Acura Home Care is also able to offer separate services for clients who are not currently approved for a Home Care Package or on a waiting list. This means that our clients will need to pay for our services directly.
Our fees depend on the level of care received and the skill set required by the carer.
What’s a Referral Code?
A Referral Code is issued to individuals who have been assessed and assigned a Home Care Package. Acura Home Care will use this code to identify you in the My Aged Care system and access your funding to provide you with the supports you need.
